NO-WAKE Zones

Marine Safety Complaint Form

(12) “Slow-No Wake” means operating a boat at the slowest speed necessary to maintain steerage and that reduces or eliminates waves that appear as white water behind the boat."

https://secure.sos.state.or.us/oard/displayDivisionRules.action?selectedDivision=753

You can report wake violators simply and online by completing the complaint form below, filling it out then scanning/emailing or snail mail into the MCSO River Patrol.

The MCSO is committed to sending letters to the owners of the violating boats if we can capture the white water of the wake, the boat OR Numbers and, preferably, the headshot of the driver.

We have found most don’t realize they are doing anything wrong and contact by the MCSO educates them from breaking the law again.

Incident/Crime Report Multnomah County River Patrol

Floating homes, marinas, and moorages within Multnomah County are frequently not within the reporting jurisdiction of the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.  Other law enforcement agencies, such as the Portland Police Bureau, are generally responsible for taking reports of criminal activity within these areas.  As a result, the MCSO River Patrol Unit is frequently not made aware of criminal activity that is occurring at the moorages and surrounding areas.  This form was developed for people who live or recreate on the waterways to share information regarding criminal activity with the River Patrol Unit, so we can be informed of criminal activity that is occurring to assist with safety and preservation of life and property.
